20  keyboard short-cuts that will help speed your computing
Here are a few tips to help you speed up your computing.

Ctrl-Z:  UNDO  undo any mistake

You need to put together a monster spreadsheet. You’ll … along the way you are guaranteed to make several mistypes that you will have to laboriously go back and redo.   Simply hit the Control key and Z to undo any mistake you make. This is great for when you cut-and-paste the wrong data into an Excel file or accidentally delete a passage from a Word document.

CTRL-SHIFT-A: From upper case to lower easily

One of the more painful things we often have to do is restyle copy from upper case to lower case, or vice-versa when preparing a presentation or a proposal.   Highlight the words you want changed and hit your Control key with the Shift button and A.  Upper or lower case copy in an instant! Go on, try it out now on any document you have open. If you don’t want this text changed, use Ctrl-Z and it will be undone.

Windows key- M: Minimize everything

Working with  multiple windows open on your PC. Accessing your desktop in these circumstances can be a lengthy process as you click away each individual window. But you can actually minimize all windows in the blink of an eye by hitting the Windows key and M together.  This quick key is great for when you are multi-tasking and for quickly minimizing anything on your screen you don’t want passers by to see.

Ctrl-Alt-Del: For when time stands still

An application has frozen and you are left twiddling your thumbs as you wait for your PC to trouble-shoot. This, no doubt, can be extremely frustrating if you are racing to meet a deadline and the document you were working on is suddenly stuck in limbo. The Control/Alt/Delete shortcut takes you straight to Task Manager where you can shut down applications that are experiencing difficulties.  This combo also gives you the option of locking your computer, logging off, shutting down, or changing your password.
