     STAGE DIRECTOR’S DUTIES

  1. Select topic or  area of the story to produce in consultation with the producer and other directors.  (July meeting—after Board meeting)

  2. Oversee the creation (writing) of the script or event outline)

  3. Cast the “Scene”
(Provide the producer with date and time but each director has complete autonomy in casting)

  4. Rehearse the “Scene”  (providing the producer with a rehearsal schedule)

  5. Oversee the construction of the “Stage” or “Staging area”
Lighting Staging Area

  6. Set all parameters for the director’s “talent” except where there might be conflicts with the producer or other director’s “plans.”

            i. e.  Show nites – Call is on or before 6:30—Director can make it earlier but not later.

  7. Director responsible for actions of talent regarding the “audience.” 

  8. Help the producers and other participants to keep an eye on the audience to avoid errant behaviors from occurring where possible.

  9. Help with ideas and execution of publicity elements of the production.

10. Help the producer and other directors secure talent.

11. Other duties to be discussed with the board.

12. STRIKE and clean up of BARN
 

SHOW DATE responsibilities

1.      Being the Stage Manager-Director-Actor and House Manager of Stage Area or finding someone to do same.

2.      Keeping an eye out for possible “audience problems”

3.      Help “pick up the pieces” if someone must drop out.

4.      Keep track of their own actors, crew, etc.

 


 

 

TRANSITIONS DIRECTOR’S DUTIES

  5. Oversee the construction or procurement of any props needed

  6. Set all parameters for the director’s “talent” except where there might be conflicts with the producer or other director’s “plans.”
 i. e.  Show nights–Call is on or before 6:30. Director can make it earlier but not later.
