The following is a detailed outline of what should happen in class.

CLASS 1 -

Introduction (General Introduction to Communications – Power Point presentation)

a. Attendance and procedures  (Activity 1 – Stand, say name, something unique about self)

b. Explain Quiz on Text reading every class    (verifies attendance-cannot be completed later)

c. Explain Grading procedure   (Grade calculated on the following criteria):

1.  Classroom/lab participation and accomplishing  the tasks assigned.

2.  Weekly Quiz on Reading Assignments

3.  Weekly Communications Prepared Presentation and impromptu presentation

4.  Final Project (Oral presentation)

5.  FINAL (written)

Assignment  (Complete reading and presentation preparation prior to Class 2)

Story Telling -Introduce and present a story to support a theme or thesis (Time 2-4 minutes)

CLASS 3 Read DON’T TALK!  COMMUNICATE! by Dr. Bobbert read Part 3  (pages 160-176 )

CLASS 4 Read In DON’T TALK!  COMMUNICATE! by Dr. Bobbert read Part 2  (pages 69-158 )

By the beginning of Class 8 you are responsible for the material in the entire book, Don’t Talk!

Communicate!  It is really not much if you compare it to the readings from the TEXT we used to use.

2 10-29 . Using only the Topic Outline and visual aids present the proposal to the class as if we were your target audience.  Interview a charity or non profit organization and prepare and deliver a proposal for funding.
